Our Story
Creative Beginnings started with a simple belief: when academics and the arts grow side-by-side, children flourish. Local families asked for a playful, high-quality preschool that honored both—so our team of early-childhood educators and teaching artists built it.
From day one, we designed a program where curiosity leads the way. Letters and numbers meet movement, music, drama, and visual art. Hands draw, voices sing, bodies move, stories bloom—and early literacy, math, and social skills take root in joyful, memorable ways.
We also knew children thrive in community. That’s why our days weave in teamwork, kindness, and connection. Families are welcomed as partners, and our classroom rhythms balance structure with free exploration, active time with quiet focus.
Today, Creative Beginnings is a place to belong: safe, bright, and intentionally balanced. Our teachers are trained to nurture the whole child - emotional, cognitive, social, and physical - so progress feels natural and confidence grows. This is learning that sticks because it’s felt, tried, danced, painted, read, and shared.

Curriculum
Our exploration-based academics
build early literacy, math, science,
and problem-solving skills through
hands-on centers and small-group
work. Lessons are intentionally
mapped to Iowa’s early learning
standards/Iowa Core so children
leave confident and kindergarten-ready.
Every day includes purposeful
movement—balance, coordination,
and gross-motor play—woven into
games, obstacle courses, and dance.
Kids strengthen their bodies and
brains while learning to take turns,
follow directions, and try new challenges.
Singing, rhythm instruments, and
listening games grow language,
memory, and focus. Children explore
beat and melody, create patterns,
and experience the joy of making
music together.
From painting and building to collage
and drawing, art time invites
imagination and fine-motor development.
We emphasize process over product so children
can explore materials, express big ideas, and
proudly share their creations.
Through dress-up, puppetry, and
story reenactments, children step into
characters, build vocabulary, and
practice empathy. Drama nurtures
confidence and collaboration while
turning everyday learning into playful make-believe.
